O.K. folks, here is the plan:
Labor Day weekend, 2010 (Friday, September 3rd; Saturday, September 4th; Sunday, September 5th) I'll will be throwing one hell of a shindig up here in western Wisconsin to celebrate my turning 42.
The groundwork is already being laid as I write this. Money is being squirrelled away; venues are being scouted; menus are being planned; musical entertainment is being sounded out; libations are being contemplated (and sometimes sampled.)
This is going to be done right and I want all my family & friends to be a part of it. So if you have any suggestions or any questions just send them along to me. Oh, and if anyone feels like sending a few bucks for the "entertainment" fund just send me a check. The more cash I got the more interesting the musical act(s) can be.

Holy party-to-end-all-parties, Batman! Good thing you warned me early. I am accustomed to watching a towering wooden man be set ablaze in the Nevada desert over Labor Day. But in 2010, *yours* is the party to be at. Be there or be a dodecahedron.
Cheers, e
I agree with wayloopy. This promises to be THE event of the year, outstripping the winter olympics AND the world cup.
I believe, wayloopy, the phrase you're looking for is "be there or be square". You've extended that into 3D, a dodecahedron. But, is that the correct Platonic solid? And why just 3 dimensions? If there is any expansion of a square that anyone certainly does not want to be, it's the Time Cube.
Gerry, the Time Cube hurts my little brain.
It burns, and its all sticky and stuff....
Rich,
I have to come a long, long way, but I will do everything in my power to be there. It will take some doing to convince my wife to let me go, but I've already started to lay the groundwork. Labor Day weekend, 2010, is a sacred date, it is carved in stone as the party of all time weekend--thank goodness you set this date so far in advance so I can make sure NOTHING keeps me from coming.
Sincerely,
Surprise guest from a long, long way away
Just reinforcing an earlier statement.
EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
